We are currently seeking a permanent, full time Impact Lending Execution Associate to join our Impact Lending team. Reporting to the Senior Manager Impact Lending Execution, you will work in deal teams alongside various Impact Lending relationship managers and Impact Lending Support officers, providing support for new/existing commercial lending transactions with a focus on credit risk analysis, credit risk monitoring, and on-going management of our commercial customers.

What you will be doing

  • Contributing to the development of long-term, mutually rewarding lending relationships between Bank Australia and its Impact Lending commercial customers by gaining a prudent and diligent understanding of our customers’ financial position, objectives, industry, risks and opportunities
  • Preparing and submitting high quality, balanced commercial loan proposals for new, increased or extended lending in an efficient and professional manner. This involves among other things carrying out analysis of historic and forecast financial information, identification of industry and business risks (and mitigants), application of credit policy and underwriting standards, and use of sound credit judgement
  • Considering (as part of the deal team) the level of positive Impact the lending transaction might deliver
  • Monitoring customers’ reporting and financial covenant obligations, and performing periodic reviews for customers who require it
  • Liaising with external legal counsel and managing the process of preparing and executing loan documentation for our Impact Lending commercial customers
  • Assisting with commercial referrals received by the business, and assist with the “triage” of referrals from Lending Hubs, Contact Centre, etc.
  • Ensuring submissions comply with Bank Australia’s Commercial Credit Policy, underwriting standards, and credit risk appetite
  • Acting according to relevant legislation, industry codes and Bank Australia’s operating policies and procedures at all times
  • Participating in staff training and development as required
  • This role may require travel to all area branches to meet customers’ needs.

What you will bring

  • Experience in commercial lending and commercial credit analysis is preferred
  • Ability to digest information and perform detailed and complex work with a high level of accuracy, including financial reporting and analysis
  • Ability to use judgement to make effective recommendations or decisions
  • Knowledge or ability to quickly learn Bank Australia’s lending policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of relevant lending legislation and codes as they relate to our Impact Lending commercial customers e.g. Banking Code of Practice, Customer Owned Code of Banking Practice
  • Experience in preparation of commercial loan documentation
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Proven experience in delivering an exceptional customer experience
  • Ability to time-manage, work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
