We are currently seeking a fixed term (12months), full time Senior Financial Risk Consultant to join the Finance Team. The position will report into the Capital & Credit Risk team within Finance. This role will be based in our Collingwood Head Office.
The Senior Financial Risk Consultant will support the Capital & Credit Risk Manager with a range of capital & credit risk activities related to Business As Usual, projects, the proposed merger of Bank Australia and Qudos Bank, and the acquisition of Australian Unity Bank.
This role is key to the successful integration of the three organisations. This will be achieved through collaborating closely with the finance, credit risk and data teams.

What you will be doing
Maintain and execute the following models:
- ECL model
- Credit Risk Weighted Assets model
- ICAAP models
Redesign business processes due to the proposed merger of Bank Australia and Qudos Bank and the acquisition of Australian Unity Bank. This would include:
- Optimisation of calculations
- Harmonisation of data requirements
- Documenting changes to calculations and data requirements
- Harmonisation and reengineering business processes
- Documenting new processes and procedures.
This will require liaising across multiple areas of the bank including: retail lending, impact lending, finance, treasury, credit risk and data teams.
- Prepare capital and credit risk related reporting designed to meet the needs of senior executives, Credit Committee, Risk Committee and Audit Committee.
- Prepare accurate and timely capital and credit risk related APRA regulatory disclosures on a monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and annual basis, including validation and control over underlying data and analytical review of reports.
- Prepare capital and credit risk related disclosures for external stakeholders.
- Complete analytics related to asset quality, provisioning and capital.
Delivery and implementation of new and updated APRA reporting standards, which includes:
- Detailing business requirements
- Writing data functional specifications
- Designing and executing test cases
- Transitioning the new reports into BAU.
What you will bring
- Knowledge of credit risk concepts and calculations
- Tertiary qualifications in commerce, accounting, economics or other relevant area.
- Experience in a retail Bank, which should include experience in a finance or risk function.
- Highly skilled in using the Microsoft Office suite of applications.
- Experience in implementing high quality business process changes.
- Experience working with workflow tools (e.g. Confluence, JIRA)
- Exposure to other functions in banking (e.g. information technology, lending, or relationship management) would be an advantage.
- Technical training relevant to areas of responsibility, such as FINSIA, RMA or other risk management organisations would be an advantage.
