Permanent - Full Time
Collingwood or Mascot
Banking and Financial Services

Through the merger of Bank Australia and Qudos Bank we’re creating a better, stronger and more resilient bank for our customers and employees. As one company with two trusted brands, we’re building on the strong foundations of our history and shared values as we bring together the best of both banks.

We are looking for a Manager of Nature and Biodiversity to drive initiatives that protect natural environments and deliver real impact. The Nature and Biodiversity Manager will lead the implementation of the bank’s nature and biodiversity strategy, shaping projects like Bank Australia’s conservation reserve, growing impact lending, and building nature-related financial disclosure capability. This role will assist the bank in achieving a positive impact on the community and the planet.

Please note, this role can be based out of our Head Office in Sydney (Mascot) or Melbourne (Collingwood).

Why join us:

  • We have big plans to become Australia’s leading purpose-driven bank.
  • As a certified B Corp, we’re part of a global business community who meet the highest social and environmental standards, balancing profit and purpose.
  • Every role and person in our bank is essential to bringing our values, purpose and aspiration to life.
  • We offer flexible working options, competitive salary and 13% super.
  • Our staff have access to a range of meaningful benefits to support their physical and mental wellbeing including 24/7 free counselling, free flu vaccinations and discounted gym memberships.
  • We also support staff with study assistance, paid parental leave (regardless of gender), volunteer, bereavement, gender affirmation and family violence leave; and the opportunity for bonus annual leave.
  • We support our staff to grow their careers through learning and development and an organisational culture where we reward and recognise innovation and values, not long hours.
  • We are committed to building an inclusive culture and a diverse workforce that reflects the Australian community.
  • We care for a conservation reserve – where we work with key partner organisations to protect threatened species and involve staff in conservation.

What you will be doing:

  • Lead implementation of the bank’s nature and biodiversity strategy.
  • Implement the bank’s engagement with and reporting under the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures including setting up core metrics and sourcing data.
  • Identify and foster collaboration between the nature and biodiversity strategy and other impact areas: climate action, First Nations recognition, and accessible housing.
  • Oversee the Bank Australia conservation reserve, including partner contracts and stakeholder relationships, including with Traditional Owners.
  • Support the Impact Lending team to identify nature-related commercial opportunities for Bank Australia, including building networks in the conservation sector.
  • Support the bank’s advocacy efforts with expert advice on nature and biodiversity.

What you will bring:

  • Strong relationship building skills and the ability to engage respectfully and effectively with diverse stakeholders, including First Nations communities.
  • Deep expertise in nature and biodiversity to inform strategy, strengthen internal capability, and drive impactful outcomes.
  • Ability to effectively navigate new and emerging areas and be comfortable working through ambiguity.
  • Commitment to Bank Australia’s purpose, aspiration, values and brand as well as the B Corp ethos.

Even better if

  • Financial services and sustainability reporting experience
