We are looking for a Group Treasurer to lead the development and execution of the institution's treasury strategy. The Group Treasurer ensures the prudent management of the financial resources of the Group, safeguarding financial stability and compliance with regulatory requirements while optimising profitability and strategic flexibility. 

The role can be based out of the Head Office in Sydney (Mascot) or Melbourne (Collingwood)

What you will be doing 

  • Developing the plan and leading the uplift of the treasury function to ensure Significant Financial Institution (SFI) readiness  
  • Oversee Bank Australia’s corporate funding activities  
  • Review and assess risk settings associated with market and interest rate risk and make appropriate recommendations to the Board on any changes 
  • Provide proactive and solution-oriented guidance on corporate strategy, major transactions, product innovation, and partnerships. 
  • Managing and monitoring capital buffers 
  • Facilitate capital reporting and recommendations to the Risk Function and ALCO 
  • Developing, implementing and maintaining Bank Australia’s liquidity risk management framework 
  • Recommending and overseeing securitisation issues into capital markets to meet organisational funding and capital needs 
  • Champion the continued build out of QRM functionality  
  • Coordinating the annual S&P review and public credit rating 

What you will bring: 

  • Demonstrated leadership experience finance, treasury or risk management within a regulated environment (preferably in a Significant financial institution) 
  • A strong governance and control mindset appropriate for the Banks risk appetite 
  • Strong governance and risk management expertise, with deep knowledge of compliance, regulatory frameworks, and financial controls. 
  • A highly motivated and result driven individual with a passion for continuous learning 
  • Commitment to Bank Australia’s purpose, aspiration, values and brand as well as the B Corp ethos
